THE PROBLEM<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Ghana is one of the world\u2019s largest cocoa producers, yet very little of the economic benefit remains in the country. Cocoa beans are almost exclusively exported in their raw form and only processed into chocolate in industrialized nations. As a result, more than 95% of the value creation takes place there, while people in the countries of origin are left with low incomes, insecure living conditions, and limited prospects. Many cocoa farmers live below or just above the poverty line despite their hard work; structural dependencies persist, and local industrialization remains minimal.<\/p>\n

THE SOLUTION<\/strong><\/h3>\n

fairafric consistently breaks this pattern: its organic chocolate is produced entirely in Ghana\u2014from the cocoa tree to the finished bar (\u201ctree to bar\u201d). High-quality chocolate is made directly in the country of origin in a solar-powered, climate-neutral factory. Farmers receive well above-average prices for their cocoa beans, including a premium of over USD 600 per metric ton as well as an additional climate bonus of USD 150.<\/p>\n
